Louise Welsh, author of The Cutting room and Tamburlaine must die chaired the event and Carlos Arredondo played Republican songs from the Spanish Civil War and settings of poems by Federico Garcia Lorca. There was no charge for admission.

There was an author event in Truckles Wine Bar, Pied Bull Yard, off Bury Place, Bloomsbury, London WC1A 2JR (near the British Museum) at 6pm on Wednesday 10th December. Phil and Jane read from the novel and signed copies. Music. For those who wanted to stay on, there was a cash bar, and the opportunity to purchase a meal from Truckles’ menu, which included hand carved Alderton ham, fresh Devonshire dressed crab and poached organic Irish salmon.
